A learning experience that feels like a story they're living.
North Star blends storytelling, simulations, gamification and reflection — so financial decisions become a skill teens build with their own hands.

The five modalities
Five ways teens actually learn money skills
Each session weaves these five together — so concepts arrive through experience, not lecture.
Storytelling
Relatable characters and real Dutch contexts make every concept stick.
Simulations
Decisions branch into consequences — teens see cause and effect, not theory.
Gamification
Points, streaks, badges and unlockable levels turn learning into momentum.
Reflection
Short recaps and prompts move insight from screen to mindset.
Real-life decisions
Each module bridges to the real world — saving, spotting scams, planning ahead.
The learning journey
One scenario, five moves
Every quote is the voice of the teen on the other side of the screen.
Step 1
Meet the story
“I step into a scenario that feels like my life — a first paycheck, a phone bill, a trip with friends.”
Each session opens with a short, relatable story set in the Netherlands. No jargon — just situations teens recognize.
Step 2
Play the choice
“I'm not just reading — I'm choosing. Save, spend, share, or wait? The world reacts to me.”
Branching simulations turn budgeting, taxes, loans and phishing into something you do, not memorize.
Step 3
Level up
“I unlock badges and the next chapter — it actually feels like a game I want to keep playing.”
Points, streaks and badges turn progress into momentum across four levels: Foundation, Growth, Independence and Future.
Step 4
Reflect & connect
“At the end I get a tiny recap — what I learned, what I'd do differently next time.”
Guided reflection prompts cement the lesson — privately, with peers, or with a teacher.
Step 5
Use it in real life
“Next time I get paid or see a sketchy link, I actually know what to do.”
Each module ends with a real-world prompt — open a savings goal, spot a scam, plan a week's spending.
